Hendrix Genetics Swine Insights Concludes Its First Season Delivering Free On-Demand Technical Webinars for Pig Professionals

From boar adaptation to economic value, our first webinar season brought practical swine expertise to an open audience, with eight free sessions dedicated to boar management.

In November 2025, Hendrix Genetics Swine launched the Swine Insights with a clear ambition: to make our technical expertise accessible to every person working in swine production. Our first season, Boar Management: From Selection to Semen Quality, began on November 28 and concluded with its eighth webisode on September 25, 2026.

Originally developed for producers and technical professionals in East and Southeast Asia, the series welcomed a global audience of farm managers, technicians, owners and technical advisers who were invited to learn directly from our specialists and bring their questions to the discussion.

Across eight approximately 45-minute webisodes, colleagues from across Hendrix Genetics Swine joined Hugues Six, General Manager East & Southeast Asia, to explore boar management from different perspectives. Delivered approximately every six weeks, the series combined technical presentations with opportunities for questions and exchange.

Global expertise, practical conversations

The strength of Hendrix Genetics Swine Insights lies in bringing complementary expertise into one accessible format. Rather than treating boar management as a single subject, the first season explored its connections with genetics, health, physiology, housing, nutrition, semen handling and economic performance.

Each session offered a different entry point into the same production challenge: understanding the factors behind consistent boar performance and semen quality. The programme moved from adaptation and genetic selection through daily management, before closing with trial results and economic value.

For Hendrix Genetics, sharing this knowledge is part of supporting the industry beyond the delivery of genetics. These free webinars create space for technical learning, direct questions and conversations with the people working on these subjects within our business. Registration was free, will remain free, and the format includes a dedicated Q&A session.

Some of our key accounts production managers mentioned the Insight program and requested the videos for internal staff training, which is a great sign!

Closing the season by connecting performance with value

For the final webisode, Hugues Six and Jean-Marc Laurent, Trial Manager East & Southeast Asia, took the stage together. Their session connected technical performance with economic value through trial and field results, productive lifetime, doses produced per boar, cost per dose and return on investment.

The final presentation also included regional on-farm trials and a closer look at the Hendrix Genetics Swine product portfolio, bringing the season from management fundamentals to performance under commercial conditions.

Next season, progress from within

How can producers develop their own replacement while maintaining genetic progress in a closed herd?

Coming soon, season two of Hendrix Genetics Swine Insights will turn its attention to closed herd breeding systems, including our Progeny service. The next chapter will explore self-replacement and the role of genetic expertise, technical support and biosecurity in developing these systems. Stay connected for the season-two program!
